Start
Your tropical boat trip starts as soon as you leave your cruise ship, right in front of the port in Puerto Limón. Our drivers keep an eye on your arrival time, so you don't have to worry if your ship docks a little later.
After you have met your driver and take a seat, your relaxed excursion begins on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. Already during the drive you get the first impressions of Puerto Limón, the tropical surroundings and the green life along the coast.
Tortuguero Canal
Boat Cruise Tortuguero Canal Puerto Limón
Take a seat in the boat provided and enjoy a quiet ride over the tropical Tortuguero canal. Here you can experience Costa Rica from a particularly relaxed perspective: from the water, surrounded by green vegetation, tropical sounds and the special atmosphere of the Caribbean.
During the boat trip, look for animals that can be discovered on the shore, in the trees or in the water. With a little luck, you'll see sloths, monkeys, iguanas, exotic waterfowl and crocodiles in their natural environment.
This boat trip is ideal if you want to experience the nature of Costa Rica, without long hikes or physical exertion. You can just sit, look, take photos and let the tropical landscape work on you.
After the boat trip, it's back to your vehicle and on to the next part of your tour.
Short detour to the beach
After the boat trip we also make a short detour to the beach. Here you can enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere, take beautiful photos and let the view of the sea affect you.
Please note: This stop is intended as a short visit to the beach and photo moment. Bathing is not possible there.
Then it's on to Maratopia.
maratopia
Then you dive into the tropical jungle garden of Maratopia. Huge blue morpho butterflies, colorful poison dart frogs and, with a little luck, free-living sloths await you here.
Since the sloths are free-living animals, we cannot guarantee that there will always be some. Most of the time, however, they show themselves to our visitors and ensure unforgettable memories.
Also discover iguanas, tropical plants, exotic species of birds and, with a bit of luck, howler monkeys, which make themselves comfortable in the trees around Maratopia.
In the back of Maratopia, you can see bananas growing sun-ripened on their plants, decorating the soil, and papayas absorb the tropical sun. Afterwards, a small fruit tasting of seasonal fruits awaits you, mostly from your own harvest.
This combination of boat trip, short beach detour and maratopia makes the tour particularly pleasant: you get a lot of nature in a short time, beautiful photo motifs and real tropical impressions, without the excursion being too long or exhausting.
Relaxed, with lots of beautiful memories and holiday photos, it's back to Puerto Limón.
Special note on pick-up time:
Our default start time is 8:00 am. When you arrive by ship, the tour starts as soon as your ship has docked and you are allowed to disembark. Then please come directly to the meeting point at the port exit, on the street side.
Book your tour and we will adjust the time according to the arrival of your ship. If your ship is late, our guides will wait until the ship arrives. All tours are carried out according to the arrival time of the ship.
End point: The activity ends at the starting point.
