Paddling Paradise, step by step
The itinerary may be adjusted depending on weather, water level, traffic, or the ship’s arrival time.
Safety and a relaxed experience always come first.
If arriving independently, the tour begins directly at Maratopia, where secure, monitored parking is available.
Cruise guests are met at the port exit on the street side by the Maratopia sign.
Before starting, the guide explains the key basics and accompanies you to the small landing point on the Río Banano.
Paddle at a comfortable pace through the green river landscape. Nature, tranquility, and the shared experience matter more than athletic performance.
With a little luck, you may see or hear exotic birds, iguanas, howler monkeys, sloths, and other animals along the river.
After paddling, visit Maratopia’s tropical garden. Large blue Morpho butterflies are a signature part of the experience; other animals may appear with a little luck.
Finish with a small tasting of seasonal fruit. Guests arriving independently remain at Maratopia, while cruise guests are returned to the port.

What appears along the river or in the garden depends on weather, time of day, and natural conditions.
Morpho butterflies are a signature part of the Maratopia experience. All other animals live freely in their natural environment, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
